Okay, so we're all done with our appointment, and once again everything looks as it should. The ultrasound tech asked us before she started if we wanted to know the sex and of course we said "YES!" So I got all goo'd up and almost immediately she says "well there's the penis!" It was really unmistakeable, which was funny to me, I thought for sure it would be like a Picasso painting up on the screen with just a bunch of strange unrecognizeable shapes. It was actually much more clear than it appears in the picture below, so I'm excited to go back and watch the tape (we got to record the whole thing on VHS). I'm sure we will see the screen totally shaking because I was giggling a lot about "the goods." The rest of the ultrasound was pretty much a blur, but very VERY cool. That boy has some LONG legs, let me tell you. He measured 22 weeks and 6 days, so almost a week bigger than "normal." All his anatomy is normal, 4 chambers in the heart, etc. He was wiggling a LOT while she was trying to get a good picture of the heart. We also got a peek at his little face on the 4D ultrasound, which was really amazing. Not nearly as creepy as I thought it would be, even though it was pretty blurry and his little hand was in the way. But I am already in love with his little nose!
Our Stats:
Baby BOY's heart rate: 155-156
My Wt: 168ish
My B/P: 124/68
Follow up appointment was pretty quick, Dr. H said everything looks great. My due date stays the same just because they always figure + or - one week anyway. We talked about how I definitely need to get all the flu shots this year, the regular flu, the H1N1, & pretty much whatever else is available. And ASAP. Pregnant women are really pretty vulnerable for the flu, especially this year since the H1N1 is so new. Anyway, my next appointment is September 28th at 26 weeks. Then a couple weeks after that I'll get some labs drawn and after that I may or may not have to get a Rhogam shot (since I am O negative). So that's about it. If I think of anything else I'll let you know, but right now my head is in BLUE clouds! :)
