Just when I’m starting to kind of figure things out with all the squirms, bumps, and thumps in there, little Sparky switches things up on me! Over the weekend it seemed like I hardly felt him move at all! By late Sunday night I was starting to get all nervous and poking my stomach going “helloooo, are you doing okay in there?” and googling kick counts and fetal movement to see if it was something I should be concerned about. Then Monday and Tuesday there he was, all feisty again. It seemed like he moved continuously throughout the day. I guess not continuously but several times an hour without any real long breaks. Eric and I were talking about it Monday night and realized (duh) that when I am on my feet moving around the house doing stuff all weekend, he’s just getting rocked to sleep. Then at my boring desk job I am sitting still all day and he’s all, “whoohoo! I’m awake now, Mom!” Eric said “When you’re sitting still all day at work, he’s in there punching and kicking to say ‘hey, Mom, are you okay out there??’ just like you poke him when he’s not moving!” Haha, we laughed really hard at that. Then today all’s quiet on the home front again. He’s a sleepy boy this morning I guess. Maybe he’s tired from golfing yesterday. Anyway, it’s all very mysterious. I suppose he’ll be just as unpredictable when he’s an infant, won’t that be fun?
In other news, someone totally tried to scam me on crib #2. It is on craigslist and someone said they were really interested in buying it and I was like, great! Then they said they were in the UK and would have a shipping broker handle the shipping. Ok… that’s weird, but whatever. THEN they said someone in the state owed them money, so they would have them write me a check for the amount owed, plus the shipping, and then I could hand over the shipping money to their broker. Um, what? I googled craigslist scams and sure enough, classic situation. Could they be any more obvious?? So much for that. I am just glad I figured it out before I did something silly like send them my address and social security number (j/k).
On Friday we’re getting the carpets cleaned, YAY! So we can start moving furniture, and putting the crib together over the weekend. I am SO excited. Too bad we don’t even have a mattress or bedding for the crib. Or anything else for the nursery for that matter. But it will be fun to get our bedroom set up finally. Right now our bed is surrounded by all of the furniture from the upstairs. Every night when I get up in the wee hours of the morning to use the ladies room I almost crack my head on this cabinet we have in the hallway. So after this weekend we’ll have some down time while we wait for more baby stuff to roll in. Fun fun!
